Dear Future Client and Friend:
I am a General Contractor that is committed to providing my clients with the best possible construction process around. Whether it is a new home build or a home renovation, I strive to do the best and highest quality job possible.
Growing up I was always building and changing things around my parents home. In 1991, I began working with my friend James and his father building an addition on their home, re-roofing it, and remodeling the inside. I then spent some time in Puerto Rico where I had the opportunity to do quite a few home repairs thanks to the many hurricanes that frequent that area every year. When I arrived home at the end of 1995, I immediately began working as a hod-tender for David Howard Masonry. After only three months of working hard, Dave put me "on the wall" which means that I was laying brick, block and stone and he had to find another "hoddy" to take my place.
In January 1996, I began my college career while still working full-time and I took the state general contractor exam and passed it at 22 years old. I then realized that before I could get my general's license I needed to have some foreman experience for a construction company so I went to work for Baldwin and Gagon Construction where I worked on a framing and footings crew. I helped run the jobs and trained quite a few guys in the art of framing homes and offices. I graduated college in August of 1999 with a degree in Business and Construction Management from Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah. That same month I quit my job, went out on my own and I also got engaged. What a crazy month!
My first official company I started was Timpanogos Builderzz, Inc which I still run today with a dba name of Goff Custom Homes and Cabins. In 2000 I started a company called Timpanogos Cubiclezz, Inc which was an office cubicle installation company. A large similar company in Salt Lake pushed me out of the market so I let it go. In 2003, I started Insulated Wall Systems, Inc with a friend which was an insulated concrete form installation company but it was a hard sell to people in Utah County so I let that one go too. In October 2004, I started AllD-signs, Inc. with that same friend and we ended up breaking apart a year later so I started Black Canyon Signs, Inc. That company is going great still to this day. It is now called Black Canyon Signs and Printing, Inc. I currently only manage the two companies and they keep me super busy.
I have done construction jobs all over the state of Utah and in Eastern Idaho. Some of the areas I have specialized in was running a framing crew where we were framing some pretty large homes and the largest framing job I did was building a pitched-trussed roof over a building larger than a football field in American Fork Utah in 2000. I have done footings, foundations, basement slabs, exterior concrete flatwork, framing, asphalt shingle and metal roofing, siding, soffit and fascia, hardi-plank, cultured stone, brick, custom mailboxes, insulation, drywall hang, tape and orange-peel and hand trowel texture, custom finish carpentry, lots of custom tile work, laminate flooring, hardwood floors, chainlink, wood and vinyl fencing. I believe I have enough experience that I can build or remodel an entire home with the best quality around. Even when I have one of my sub-contractors doing one of the trades on my job, I make sure they are doing the best job possible.
Sincerely, Joe Goff
